About the School
Since 1985 Bible Baptist Christian Academy (BBCA) has been providing high academic and values-based education. Bible Baptist Church started the school so the children attending the church could learn a Bible-based curriculum.
BBCA is a government registered school and is a member of AISWA. It is also a ministry of Bible Baptist Church.
Pastor Eric Thrush has been the administrator of the school since it started. Graham Dustan is the principal of the school. He has maintained the position since 2006. The principal is responsible for the running of the school and he directs major decisions to the pastor.
The school employs qualified teachers, registered with WACOT. The school also has teacher's aids and volunteers which are supervised by the qualified teachers.
Curriculum
BBCA has a commitment to high literacy and numeracy and a strong emphasis on values-based education. The educational program is based upon Biblical principles. It uses curriculum supplied by Southern Cross Educational Enterprises, a division of School of Tomorrow®, and it uses its own courses developed by the teachers.
The students are given an individual learning program, tailored to his or her strengths and weaknesses. The students also attend group classes which encourage team work and communication.
The pre-school program uses a structured, phonics-based curriculum. Parents can be assured that their kindergarten and pre-primary children can read and write when they graduate from the reading program.
The staff will prescribe a program tailored to your child's abilities. This method suits both students who are gifted and talented and students who have some learning challenges. Students do not "fall through the gaps" at BBCA.
High School students have the option of completing a year 10 or year 12 certificate. Students who wish to go on to university must complete the year 12 requirements. There are over 40 high-school courses to suit your child's interests and career path.
Admission
Parents must attend an interview with the pastor. Careful attention will be made to the students' behaviour at previous schools.
If the application is approved, parents must read the Parent Handbook and sign the Student Application Form.

An enrolment fee of $50 applies to applications.
Parents are required to pay fees each month, except January.
The total fees for Kindergarten to Year 12 are as follows:

Two children $262 per month, $2882 per year
Three children $298 per month, $3278 per year
Four children $334 per month, $3674 per year
Five children $370 per month, $4070 per year
Fees may alter from month to month depending on number of PACEs completed by an individual student.
PACE
A PACE or Packet of Accelerated Christian Education is like a workbook. In each grade a student is expected to complete PACEs in Mathematics, English, Social Studies and Science. PACEs integrate character-building lessons into the academic content and are carefully designed to develop skills and create mastery learning.
Students begin their PACE work by noting their goals, the concepts they will learn, a Bible verse, and a corresponding character trait. From the very beginning of each PACE they know what is expected and they assume the responsibility for their own learning.
Throughout the curriculum the introduction of new vocabulary words is controlled so that no word is used without the student first learning its meaning and pronunciation.
Full colour explanations and illustrations add excitement to each lesson and innovative learning activities reinforce the interesting text material.
Each PACE contains Checkups which are quizzes covering a section of the PACE.
If mastery in an area is not achieved, the Checkup will reveal that weak area. Students can then take time to review and learn those concepts.
Upon completion of the activities and Checkups, students prepare to take the Self Test, a practice test. Here students evaluate themselves to determine readiness for the PACE test. When the Self Test is successfully completed, the student hands in the PACE and takes the PACE test the next school morning.
The PACE test objectively measures student's mastery of the material. ("In a Class of Your Own", Accelerated Christian Education)
